Where Weyerhaeuser does well

  • Arbitration 0 of 20. Nothing found.
  • Renewals 0 of 20. Nothing found.
  • No forced arbitration or class-action waiver: the Terms of Use send disputes to the state or federal courts in King County, Washington — visitors keep their right to sue in court, which is rare and better than most consumer companies.
  • No subscriptions, auto-renewals, or cancellation traps exist on this B2B timber REIT site.
  • The policy never claims a right to sell your data for money; sharing is framed as ad targeting/remarketing plus business operations.
  • They provide a real marketing-email opt-out, cookie opt-out instructions with links, and honor state privacy rights across 17 named U.S. states plus Nevada and Canadian rights, with a dedicated privacy officer email (privacy@weyerhaeuser.com) and phone line.
  • The services are not offered to children under 16, and they promise to delete any under-16 data they discover.
  • Data collected from outside sources is disclosed (public resources, mailing list providers, credit agencies) rather than hidden.

They can rewrite the rules whenever they want with zero notice, and just by continuing to use the site you're treated as agreeing to the new version.

The fine print

6 clauses and findings from the draft archive, dated 1 October 2026. The plain English comes first; the small print is the company's own words. None of these has been checked yet.

  1. They can rewrite the rules whenever they want with zero notice, and just by continuing to use the site you're treated as agreeing to the new version. No email alert, no opt-in, no grace period.

We reserve the right to change, add, or remove portions of these Terms of Use at any time and all such changes become effective immediately when we post them. When we make changes, we will update the date at the top of these Terms of Use. Please check back periodically. Your continued use of our Services following the posting of revised Terms of Use means that you accept and agree to the changes.

    Website Terms of Use

  2. Anything you send or post on their site — text, images, data, feedback — becomes theirs to reuse, publish, or profit from however they like, and they don't have to keep it private or ask again.

Any material, information, or other communication you transmit or post to our Services ('Communications') will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. We will have no obligations with respect to the Communications. Weyerhaeuser and its designees will be free to copy, disclose, distribute, incorporate, and otherwise use the Communications and all data, images, sounds, text, and other things embodied therein for any and all commercial or non-commercial purposes.

    Website Terms of Use

  3. Your browsing behavior is shared with ad companies so they can target and retarget you with personalized ads across the internet — the standard ad-tech pipeline of a B2B company still running consumer-style ad tracking.

We may disclose your personal information... with our advertising partners for the purpose of ad targeting, remarketing, and customized advertising content. We use cookies to ensure that our websites function properly, to personalize content and ads, to provide social media features, to analyze website traffic, and to evaluate and improve our websites. Information collected through advertising cookies may be disclosed to other organizations (e.g., advertisers).

    Privacy Policy

  4. They may literally replay recordings of your visits — your clicks, scrolling, and screen layout — via a third-party vendor (Hotjar is named elsewhere in the policy), while still identifying you by IP and device ID.

In certain instances, we may also contract with vendors to help us analyze activity on our websites through session replay technologies to help us understand and analyze how visitors use our Services, and to improve the Services. These technologies may collect the following types of information, among others: IP address; screen size; device type (unique device identifiers); browser information; geographic location; and preferred language.

    Privacy Policy

  5. If you turn on Do Not Track in your browser to ask sites not to follow you, Weyerhaeuser openly ignores the request.

Some internet browsers include the ability to transmit 'Do Not Track' or 'DNT' signals. Like many websites, our websites are not designed to respond to 'Do Not Track' signals received from browsers.

    Privacy Policy

  6. There is no fixed deletion timeline — they keep your data as long as they deem useful for business purposes, and even if you delete your account they keep cached and archived copies, with no stated expiry.

Personal information is retained for as long as necessary to reasonably fulfill the purposes for which it was intended, for legal or business purposes, and in accordance with Weyerhaeuser retention policies... If you wish to delete your account, please email us at software@weyerhaeuser.com, but note that we may retain certain information as required for legal, business, or compliance purposes. We may also retain cached or archived copies of personal information about you for a period of time.

How these were found

Terms of Use read directly from weyerhaeuser.com via browser_open, marked 'Last Updated: December 22, 2020' (its copyright notice still says 2021, so parts are stale). Privacy Policy read directly from weyerhaeuser.com via browser_open, marked 'Updated: December 5, 2024'. No mirrors were used. An attempt to open the linked U.S. State Privacy Addendum landed on an unrelated product page, so the Addendum's contents were not reviewed. A web search for Weyerhaeuser's addendum returned state-law PDFs hosted on other companies' domains (wilsonlanguage.com); these were deliberately NOT attributed to Weyerhaeuser. Weyerhaeuser is a B2B timberland REIT, so several rubric categories (auto-renew, arbitration, consumer data sale) simply do not apply.
