The fine print

5 clauses and findings from the draft archive, dated 1 October 2026. The plain English comes first; the small print is the company's own words. None of these has been checked yet.

  1. One rider at a time, in a private arbitration room, for everything. No class actions, no jury.

Binding individual arbitration for ALL disputes — including claims from before you agreed and personal injury/death claims — with class/collective/mass-action waivers.

Uber General Terms of Use §2

  2. Get outside funding to fight Uber and you must hand Uber your private legal documents.

As a condition of agreeing to these Terms, you waive any attorney client privilege, work product privilege, common interest privilege, or similar protection with respect to documents that you or your counsel share with a Litigation Funder.

  3. Uber buys data about you from data resellers: demographics, income range, interests, purchasing behavior, viewing habits — stitched into your profile.

Uber Privacy Notice (updated Sept 17, 2026)

  4. Forget to cancel and you get charged — possibly with zero warning — on whichever card works.

Uber One: “UNLESS YOU CANCEL YOUR RENEWABLE MEMBERSHIP, IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY RENEW… AND YOU AUTHORIZE US TO COLLECT THE APPLICABLE MEMBERSHIP RATE (WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE…), USING YOUR DEFAULT PAYMENT METHOD OR ANY OTHER ELIGIBLE PAYMENT METHOD SAVED IN YOUR WALLET.”

  5. No accept button for new rules — just opening the app counts as your signature.
