Where Paramount Skydance Corporation does well

  • Price increases only take effect at renewal after notice, and you can cancel before the next billing period (6.1).
  • If Paramount discontinues a plan, they give at least 30 days' notice and refund amounts paid for service not yet received (14.1(a)). Cancellation is self-serve via your account page with no fee or penalty, and you keep access through the end of the paid period (5.8). In-person arbitration hearings are held in the county of your residence, not forced to New York (18.2). The privacy policy states they do not have actual knowledge of selling or sharing personal information of anyone under 16.

No court, no jury, no class action — every dispute must go to individual arbitration, and there is no general opt-out of the arbitration clause (the only opt-out exists after a mass-filing staged process completes).

The fine print

7 clauses and findings from the draft archive, dated 1 October 2026. The plain English comes first; the small print is the company's own words. None of these has been checked yet.

  1. No court, no jury, no class action — every dispute must go to individual arbitration, and there is no general opt-out of the arbitration clause (the only opt-out exists after a mass-filing staged process completes).

IF YOU OR WE HAVE ANY DISPUTE WITH OR CLAIM AGAINST THE OTHER (A 'CLAIM') ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING IN ANY WAY TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS OF USE ... YOU AND WE EACH AGREE TO RESOLVE SUCH DISPUTES THROUGH AN INDIVIDUAL BINDING ARBITRATION OR AN INDIVIDUAL ACTION IN SMALL CLAIMS COURT. Class arbitrations and class actions are not permitted. ... you and we are each waiving the right to a trial by jury or to participate in a class action.

Paramount+ Terms of Use (Section 18)

  2. Before you can even file for arbitration, you must send certified mail (not your lawyer), wait 60 days, and personally attend a settlement call — miss a step and your arbitration can be thrown out.

A Notice from you to us must (1) be sent by certified mail; (2) be addressed to: CBS Interactive Inc., 680 Folsom Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, Attn: Legal Department ... (7) include a personally signed statement from you (and not your counsel) verifying the accuracy of the contents of the Notice. ... the parties shall engage in a good faith effort to resolve the dispute for a period of 60 days ... both parties will personally attend (with counsel, if represented). Compliance with this Mandatory Pre-Arbitration Notice and Informal Dispute Resolution Procedure section is a condition precedent to initiating arbitration.

Paramount+ Terms of Use (Section 18.1)

  3. If lots of people complain together, Paramount funnels them into a staged drip-feed of arbitrations (25, then 50, then 100 claims at a time) that the terms admit 'might be delayed' — a designed bottleneck against mass arbitration.

If, at any time, 25 or more claimants ... submit Notices or seek to file demands for arbitration raising similar claims ... you and we agree that the additional procedures set forth below shall apply. ... The parties acknowledge and agree that by electing to participate in a Mass Filing, the adjudication of their dispute might be delayed.

Paramount+ Terms of Use (Section 18.6)

  4. Subscriptions auto-renew at whatever the current price is, free trials convert to paid automatically (you must hand over a card upfront), and if your card changes, Paramount lets itself pull the new card number from your bank to keep billing you.

Your Subscription will automatically continue at the interval selected during the sign-up process, and you will be charged at the then-current price (including any applicable taxes) ... unless prior to the end of the current Subscription period ... you cancel your Subscription. ... You will need to provide a valid payment method at the point of sign-up and will be charged automatically at the end of your free trial period, unless you cancel your Subscription before the expiry of such period. ... If we receive updated payment details or credit card information ... directly from your payment service providers, you authorize us to use these new details when charging payments for your Subscription in order to prevent any interruption to your Subscription.

    Paramount+ Terms of Use (Sections 5.4, 5.5(b), 5.7(e)(iv))

  5. Paramount admits it 'sells' or 'shares' your name, email, IP, viewing habits, location and social-media data with advertisers and ad networks for targeted ads — including sensitive traits like race/ethnicity and precise location — and ignores Do Not Track signals.

The following types of personal information may be processed for purposes of targeted advertising, and may have been 'shared' or 'sold' in the 12-month period prior to the last modified date of the privacy policy: Registration Information and Online Identifiers ... Commercial information ... Online Activities and Preferences ... Location data ... Social Media Information ... Each category of personal information listed above is 'shared' with or 'sold' to the following third parties to help us target and deliver personalized ads to you ...: Business partners ... Advertisers and other advertising partners ... Social media companies ... We use sensitive personal information only when permitted by applicable laws (such as race/ethnicity, precise location information, and your account/password) — specifically ... to serve you targeted advertising ... Do Not Track. Our websites and apps are not designed to respond to 'do not track' requests from browsers.

    Paramount Skydance Privacy Policy

  6. Using an ad blocker — even on a paid subscription — is grounds for Paramount to suspend or cancel your account.

You must not prevent, or attempt to prevent, the display of advertisements on the Service, or use any ad blocker or similar tool. If you do not comply with this requirement then we may, on reasonable notice to you: (i) suspend or terminate your Subscription.

Paramount+ Terms of Use (Section 5.1(d))

  7. Anything you upload becomes theirs to use forever, worldwide, royalty-free — even after you leave. And if you cancel, you get no refund; delete your account and any gift-card balance vanishes.

With respect to User Submissions you submit or otherwise make available on or to the Service, you grant us and our Affiliates an irrevocable, fully sub-licensable, perpetual, world-wide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, publicly perform and publicly display such User Submission (in whole or in part), and to incorporate such User Submission into other works, in any format or medium now known or later developed. ... YOU WILL NOT BE REFUNDED FOR ANY FEES YOU HAVE PAID. ... you will not be able to withdraw any Gift Card credit once applied to your Account and ... if such deletion is successful, you acknowledge that you will forfeit the remaining balance of any Gift Card credit in your Account.

How these were found

Primary source: Paramount+ Terms of Use dated September 15, 2026, read in full via browser_open on Oct 1, 2026 at legal.paramount.com/us/en/pplus/termsofuse. Also read CBS Interactive general Terms of Use (effective May 27, 2025) via browser_open — note it explicitly states 'these Terms do not apply to Paramount+', so it was used only as corroboration. Paramount Skydance Privacy Policy at privacy.paramount.com/en/policy: the page uses a JS redirect that automated fetching cannot follow, so the privacy-policy language was taken from verbatim search-result snippets of the official policy page (crawled under 1 hour before the search). No third-party mirrors were needed for the terms; no clauses were invented. Score is editorial judgment per the six-category rubric; categories sum to 73.
