Where Verisk Analytics does well
- Arbitration 0 of 20. Nothing found.
- Renewals 2 of 20. Few problems found.
- No forced arbitration or class-action waiver: the Conditions of Use send disputes exclusively to New York state/federal courts — unusually consumer-fair for a corporate site.
- Explicit no-sale pledges: the Online Privacy Notice states 'We do not sell personal data that you provide to us or that we collect on our website,' and the US Consumer Notice likewise says 'WE DO NOT SELL OR SHARE PERSONAL INFORMATION AS SUCH TERMS ARE DEFINED BY DATA PRIVACY LAWS,' plus the Cookie Policy honors the Global Privacy Control browser opt-out signal.
- Concrete retention schedule published: site data kept only 'as long as necessary in order to respond to your request, and for a short period afterwards'; analytics data kept a 'short period'; business-relationship data for the relationship plus three years — far more specific than boilerplate 'as long as needed' language.
- Full consumer-rights machinery: access/deletion/correction/portability requests via privacy@verisk.com, 1-844-845-6988, or a web form, with an appeal process and links to state attorneys general for complaints, plus a non-discrimination pledge.
Verisk can change the site terms whenever it wants, without telling you, and you're automatically bound by the new terms just by visiting — you don't have to agree to them or even be notified.
The fine print
6 clauses and findings from the draft archive, dated 1 October 2026. The plain English comes first; the small print is the company's own words. None of these has been checked yet.

-
If your browser asks Verisk not to track you, it ignores that request — and visitors' activity can be collected over time and across other websites, by Verisk and its service providers.
Like many other websites and online services, we do not currently process or respond to 'Do Not Track' signals from your browser or to other mechanisms that enable choice. Both we and others (such as our service providers) may collect personal data about our visitors' online activities over time and across third-party websites.

How these were found
1) Website Conditions of Use was read in full on Verisk's staging domain (beta.verisk.com, crawled 17 days ago) — the document itself bears 2008/2009 copyright notices and may be an older version; the live production URL was not separately fetched. 2) The Online Privacy Notice read was the English-language Nordics edition (Verisk Analytics AB, last updated June 10, 2026, https://www.verisk.com/en-se/privacy-policies/verisk-online-privacy-notice/); the US production edition was not fetched separately. 3) The ISO ClaimSearch CCPA FAQ 'service provider' position (no CCPA opt-out-of-sale right for the claims database) is corroborated only by a third-party data-broker-registry research note (github.com/markramm/data-broker-registry, fetched and read directly); the FAQ page itself was not opened, so its exact wording is unverified. 4) Per-subsidiary CCPA notice pages (Velocity, Xactware, VDE Service Desk) and the Xactware EULA were found but not read; only search snippets were used. 5) No quotes, clause text, scores, or URLs were invented — all findings trace to the documents opened above.
These notes come from the original draft and are not independent verification.
