Where Parker Hannifin does well

  • Arbitration 0 of 20. Nothing found.
  • No forced arbitration or class-action waiver appears in any Parker document reviewed; disputes are governed by Ohio law and go to ordinary courts, unlike most consumer tech companies.
  • The investor privacy policy states the sharing question plainly — 'Is Your Personal Information Shared? No.' — rather than burying it.
  • Cookie refusal is explicitly honored ('You may set your browser to refuse cookies') with no dark-pattern blocker.
  • The EULA restricts its tools to users with real technical expertise and opens with blunt death-and-injury safety warnings — a safety-first posture that is appropriate for industrial engineering software.

Anything you put into or generate with Parker's engineering software — plus any feedback you give — becomes theirs forever: they can use, store, adapt, publish, sublicense it to third parties for any commercial purpose, and they promise you nothing about keeping it confidential.

The fine print

6 clauses and findings from the draft archive, dated 1 October 2026. The plain English comes first; the small print is the company's own words. None of these has been checked yet.

  1. Anything you put into or generate with Parker's engineering software — plus any feedback you give — becomes theirs forever: they can use, store, adapt, publish, sublicense it to third parties for any commercial purpose, and they promise you nothing about keeping it confidential.

You grant to Parker a royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive, unrestricted, worldwide license to: (i) use, reproduce, backup, store, transfer, maintain, copy, sublicense, adapt, transmit, retransmit, distribute and/or publicly perform or display any and all data and feedback provided or generated by You in connection with the Program, or collected, processed, compiled, or generated by the Program for improving and enhancing the Software and for any other commercial, noncommercial or other lawful purpose; and (ii) sublicense to third parties the unrestricted right to exercise any of the foregoing rights granted with respect to any such feedback and data. Parker accepts no obligation for maintaining the confidentiality of any such feedback or data.

Parker Virtual Engineer EULA (Data; Feedback, §9)

  2. While Parker's own liability to you is disclaimed entirely, you must pay for and defend Parker's legal costs — including their attorneys' fees — for claims arising from your use (or even your inability to use) their software, or any alleged breach by you.

RATHER, YOU THE USER HEREBY AGREE TO DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS PARKER, ITS PARENTS, AFFILIATES, LICENSEES, SUPPLIERS, AND DISTRIBUTORS, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS, FROM AND AGAINST ALL LIABILITIES, CLAIMS... AND EXPENSES, INCLUDING ATTORNEY'S FEES, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE PROGRAM OR INFORMATION, AND ANY RESULTS OR OUTPUT THEREOF, OR FOR YOUR VIOLATION OR ALLEGED VIOLATION OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS... OR ANY DAMAGE OR OTHER HARM CAUSED AS A RESULT OF YOUR WILLFUL, RECKLESS OR NEGLIGENT ACT OR OMISSION.

Parker Virtual Engineer EULA (Limitation of Liability, §8)

  3. Parker can change, pull, or cancel the software — or rewrite these very terms — at any time, for any reason, with no advance warning, and you must remove the software from your systems immediately.

Parker may at any time, without prior cause or notice, and in its sole discretion: (a) modify, update, obsolete, revise, alter, change, withdraw, or cancel the Program and Information or any module or other functionality thereof; (b) terminate the license herein grant and/or your use of or access to the Program and Information or any module or functionality thereof; and/or (c) modify these Terms and Conditions and/or the terms and conditions of your use of or access to the Program and Information or any module or functionality thereof.

Parker Virtual Engineer EULA (Term, §6)

  4. Even after you get an order confirmation or shipping notice, Parker can kill your order if it decides the price was wrong — the confirmed price is not binding on them. (Same page also says Parker is only a 'payment agent' for marketplace partner sales, and refunds on partner returns happen only after the partner tells Parker you returned the goods — customer service for returns is the partner's problem, not Parker's.)

Parker reserves the right to cancel any orders containing pricing errors, with no further obligations to you, even after your receipt of an order confirmation or shipping notice from Parker. Any payments you make to Parker for orders that are cancelled due to pricing errors will be refunded.

  5. Parker tracks your IP and cookies; if you refuse cookies you can be cut off from deals and promotions. And the policy itself can be rewritten 'from time to time' with no stated notice to you — changes take effect whenever they say.

  6. You lose the right to sue over a sale just 12 months after the incident — even if you couldn't have discovered the problem yet — and Parker's maximum exposure is the price you paid, with all consequential damages excluded. (Same doc: orders cancelled at your request face charges 'up to the sell price,' and 'Seller, at any time, may change features, specifications, designs and availability of Products.')

...must be commenced within twelve (12) months from the date of the alleged breach or other alleged event, without regard to the date of discovery. [...] IN NO EVENT IS SELLER LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF, OR AS THE RESULT OF, THE SALE... IN NO EVENT SHALL SELLER'S LIABILITY UNDER ANY CLAIM MADE BY BUYER EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE

How these were found

Parker Hannifin is an industrial B2B motion-control company; there are no consumer subscriptions or retail accounts, so most findings come from commercial documents, scored modestly where clauses are standard B2B norms. Documents actually read: (1) Virtual Engineer EULA at virtualengineer.parker.com, which states 'Last updated: March 2018'; (2) parker.com online-transactions supplemental terms (ph.parker.com), current as crawled; (3) Parker-Hannifin investor-site Privacy Policy (investors.parker.com/privacy-policy), which is thin/legacy and may be outdated; (4) Offer of Sale – Aftermarket Products PDF (parker.com), marked '09 / 22' — quotes below come from its officially-indexed text as returned by search snippets on the parker.com domain. No canonical current parker.com 'Terms of Use' or 'Privacy Policy' webpage was locatable via search (the EULA references Privacy Policy / Terms of Use / Cookie Policy 'posted on www.parker.com', but no indexable URL was found), and the IQAN Connect EULA at mobileiot.parker.com is JS-rendered and returned almost no text to the text fetcher. Context (not scored): in May 2022 Parker faced a class action in Ohio federal court (Top Class Actions) alleging a March 2022 data breach exposed employee/dependent PII including SSNs, via 'inadequate security measures' — a factual data-governance incident, not a sneaky clause.
